China's Starch Industry Upgrades with Boundary-breaking Efforts: Shanghai Starch Expo to Open on June 15<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The 20th Shanghai International Starch and Starch Derivatives Expo (Shanghai Starch Expo), a benchmark for the Asia-Pacific starch industry, will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from June 15 to 17, 2026.<\/p>

The expo, themed “Breaking Boundaries” for its milestone 20th anniversary, is co-hosted by the China Starch Industry Association and Shanghai Sinoexpo Informa Markets International Exhibition Co., Ltd.. It aims to build a one-stop industrial platform integrating ingredient supply, intelligent equipment, international cooperation and innovation incubation, joining hands with industry insiders to unlock a golden era for the starch industry.<\/p><\/div><\/section>

Fueled by the global healthy consumption trend and national policies, China\u2019s starch industry is reshaping its ecosystem. The 2026 expo focuses on four core sectors: starch ingredients, health and nutrition, fermentation, and processing supply chain, and links with concurrent food and nutrition exhibitions. It is expected to cover 200,000 square meters, attracting over 120,000 professional visitors worldwide and more than 2,500 exhibitors, including renowned domestic and international brands like Chongqing Jiangbei, Sulzer, Flottweg, Jiangsu Famsun, Tiba Starch and many others. Its exhibition scope spans the entire industrial chain, from various starches, modified starches and enzyme preparations to food processing equipment, environmental protection technology and testing devices.<\/p><\/div><\/section>

On-site events will boost the industry’s development, highlighted by the 10th World Starch Industry Congress. The congress will gather top global starch experts and industry leaders to discuss cutting-edge technologies, market trends and innovative applications of starch in health and nutrition. Having moved beyond its traditional role as a simple energy supplier, the starch industry has evolved into a pillar of the health economy, with functional products such as resistant starch and low-GI starch playing key roles in blood sugar management, intestinal health and sports nutrition, and serving as core ingredients for functional foods and dietary supplements.<\/p><\/div><\/section>

Dozens of Chinese and English forums will be held during the expo, focusing on hot topics including natural sweetener application, new protein innovation, sports anti-aging, silver hair health, pet food nutrition and oral anti-aging ingredient development.
